Piaggio Fly

Introduction

Piaggio, makers of the Vespa, Derbi, Aprilia keeps a very generous price for Fly. Piaggio is selling the Fly for much less than it sells its Vespa that uses a similar power mill. Its dash is inspired from the four-stroke Vespa, the usual lights, a fuel gauge, the battery-powered digital clock and conspicuously absent resettable trip meter. According to the manufacturers, high quality of plastic material has been utilized in the making of it along with the majestic paint scheme. The air-cooled 125cc powerplant provides a superlative amount of power and torque.

Design

Piaggio Fly is a stylish and sleekly designed scooter. It is bolted on a monocoque full steel body and in order to make this scooter elegant and fashionable from the front, the Italian designers have furnished a one-eyed halogen headlamp that has the chrome finish. From the side, it has a sharp and edgy fairing that resembles stylish and good for safety purpose, and the spongy dual-straight seat looks quite impressive. Its rear portion is sophisticatedly crafted, which houses single tail light that has side indicator and the main rear light in it. Furthermore, it has a length of 1850 mm with a width of 695 mm and height of 1325 mm the Fly does a splendid job with a weight of nearly 120 kg.

Engine, Economy & Performance

Talking about its engine and performance, it is fitted with a 125cc powertrain unit, which emits the maximum power of 9.65 hp at 7750 rpm and a superlative torque of 9.5 nm at 6000 rpm. The Italian manufacturer has furnished it with 125cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder, four-stroke engine that provide a smooth acceleration. The engine is connected to an automatic clutch with coil spring that shifts the gear calmly without any problem.

Handling

The manufacturer has used the tubular frame in Fly. It has been outfitted with telescopic suspension at the front and unit swing arm suspension at the rear portion of the vehicle. In order to provide a nice grip on the road, the makers are offering this scooter with the tyre size of 120/70 R12 at both ends. The tyre produces an outstanding grip on the road and the rider feels convinced while riding it.
