Piaggio Zip

Introduction

  After the extraordinary popularity of Vespa among the female community, Piaggio unveiled Zip which is sleek and light in weight. Zip is funky, fresh and its compact designing makes it one of the most dependable scooter in town. It has sharp lines and cute curves which are very delightful and add a character to the scooter. With an aim to widen the two-wheeler section in Vietnam, Zip was introduced to accommodate that extra fun and comfort every scooter lover looks for.

Design

  Piaggio Zip is a refinement of the early versions. It is an electrified scooter and provides an excellent and joyous ride to the rider on a long journey with heartthrob visual appearance and compact designing. The front body profile witnesses a stylish one-eyed headlamp that lighten up the road well in the dark and offers proper visibility at nights. It has been enclosed within a robust, aerodynamically-designed casing. The side indicators are clipped below the handlebar to deliver the most hair-raising appearance. In terms of design, the manufacturer has provided Zip in three different contrasting colors Blue, White and Red which brings a striking aura. It has the company emblem painted on its beautifully designed side view. It has 120 mm height and length of 1700 mm with a width of 680mm with a decent kerb weight.

Engine, Economy & Performance

  Talking about its engine and performance, Zip has a 96cc single cylinder, 4-stroke engine developing 5.63 hp power at 6750 rpm and a peak torque of 6.92 nm at 6000 rpm. It is furnished with a variable-speed transmission gearbox system with perfectly optimized ratios. It employs a carburetor fuel supply system that ensures an undelayed ignition of the vehicle. The engine is impressive and with this arrangement, the vehicle sprints from 0 to 70kmph in few seconds, making it one of the most rapid light weight scooter available in the country right now.

Handling

  The Italian manufacturer has outfitted it with the telescopic suspension at the front and unit swing arm suspension at the rear which can handle imperfections on the road well enough. The suspension and well-cushioned seat guarantee comfort on bumpy road surfaces. It also has less ground clearance that enhance its stability. Piaggio is offering this lightweight scooter with tubeless tyres, the front has 100/80 R10 while the rear has 120/70 R10 to deliver a smooth, comfortable and handy ride. Handling of this magnificently constructed scooter is quite impressive.

Safety, Braking, and Miscellaneous

  For adequate braking, it has a disc brake at front and drum brake at the rear portion with an automatic clutch that offers a dynamic stopping power and reliable braking experience to the rider. It is designed to provide extreme safety and comfort. The lightweight scooter’s design is mainly featured on female riders so the features are set accordingly.
