Piaggio Beverly

Introduction

Piaggio is an Italy-based automobile company which holds few other brands like Aprilia, Vespa, Derbi and Moto Guzzi. Beverly is a full combination of light weight, compact designing and powerful performance. The manufacturer has trimmed its upper half of the combustion chamber into the cylinder head which is supplemented by a dished piston top to add more style. It has a completely new transmission and a multi-disc clutch which replaces the traditional centrifugal-shoes.

Design

With a stepped seat, Piaggio has assembled Beverly to give comfort to the rider and pillion. In regards to dimension, it has a length of 2215 mm with a width of 760 mm and height of 1560 mm. It has a classy impression from every angle. It comes with a remarkable front profile that has a fashionable single eyed headlamp section with clear lens indicators effectively embedded on the front with a big windscreen. The rear view mirrors also add a lot of character and charisma to the vehicle. From the side, it has company emblem on the back side of the machine which makes it more appealing. At the rear, it has a single tail light that has side indicators in it. A well balanced and vigorous body frame of the Piaggio Beverly provide an extraordinary riding experience to the rider. Engine, Economy & Performance

Talking about its engine and performance, Beverly has a 330cc, single cylinder, four-stroke 2-valves engine that comes linked with a CVT transmission to churn out the supreme power of 32.84 hp at 8250 rpm and a superlative torque of 32.3 nm at 6250 rpm. With this configuration, the scooter produces an overall superior performance along with a decent fuel economy. The CVT technology keeps the power mill in the maximum power band for lively acceleration. The clutch pull is quite steady, accurate and snatch-free, and the scooter is more convenient than Piaggio's earlier versions.

Handling

The suspension duties are carried out impressively by telescopic suspension up front and swing arm suspension at the rear. The Italian manufacturer has used high-quality tubeless tyres in Beverly size 110/70 R16 at the front while at the rear the size is 150/70 R14 that are positioned over stylish, satin finish alloy wheels. The tyres have a discerning adhesion property and grant an exceptional stability on the road. Overall the body structure has been ideally constructed to give a joyful and stress-free riding experience. It has a long wheelbase for a scooter which gives high-speed stability and a top speed of 90 kmph along with the quite splendid acceleration response. On the road, it flicks in quickly, carries a high lean angle hindered only be the centre stand on left turns and there is plenty of grip from the wide tubeless tyres.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

For satisfying braking, Beverly has been blessed with a multi-plate clutch that inhibits loss of revs. It is furnished with a set of the disc brake at both ends to give an impressive stability under rigid braking conditions even without any ABS unit. Piaggio's Beverly has state of art engine with exceptional comfort and meticulous finishings. The performance is excellent and considering its sustained power delivery, endurance and the sharp form, you may not find an outstanding scooter in Vietnam.
